Stella Lau

Stella specialises in civil litigation, with a specific focus on commercial and probate disputes. Preparation of wills and estate administration are also her field of specialty.

Stella was qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 2022 and joined Hugill & Ip as an Associate in 2024.

Stella specializes in trust and estate-related disputes, financial provision claims and assists professional administrators with their duties.  She is also experienced in non-contentious private client matters including drafting of wills and enduring powers of attorney, estate administration, as well as immigration matters.

Apart from private wealth matters, Stella also handles various civil and commercial disputes such as debt recovery, registration and enforcement of arbitral awards and PRC judgments, and regulatory investigations.

Prior to joining Hugill & Ip, Stella completed her training with a reputable litigation law firm in Hong Kong and handled a variety of commercial and civil litigation matters in a PRC law firm.

Stella graduated from the University of Birmingham, UK with a degree in Bachelor of Laws.  She obtained her Master of Laws in Compliance and Regulation from the University of Hong Kong, and completed her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws in the City University of Hong Kong.

Stella is a keen traveller and enjoys cooking in her free time.

Stella is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
