Hugill & Ip Continues Supporting PathFinders

On 30 November, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club hosted a momentous occasion: the 16th anniversary dinner of PathFinders, an organization dedicated to supporting migrant women and their children in Hong Kong. This year, Hugill & Ip proudly stands as one of the key supporters of this event, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.

Celebrating 16 years of impact

PathFinders has been a beacon of hope for many vulnerable families over the past sixteen years. The organization provides essential services, including legal aid, healthcare, and educational support, to migrant women facing various challenges. Its efforts not only empower these women but also contribute to the well-being of their children, fostering a brighter future for families in need.

Having served over 11,000 babies, children and women, PathFinders is a respected charity committed to supporting the welfare of children by providing child protection, counselling, shelter, food, health, education and legal support.

The anniversary dinner served as a celebration of the progress made and the lives transformed through PathFinders’ initiatives. Attendees had the opportunity to hear inspiring stories from beneficiaries and donors and learn more about the organization’s plans for the future.

Hugill & Ip’s continued support

Hugill & Ip has been actively collaborating with PathFinders for several years, providing both legal advisory support and taking on pro bono cases that help migrant women. This partnership reflects the firm’s dedication to social justice and its belief in the importance of giving back to the community.

Through their collaboration, Hugill & Ip has played a vital role in offering legal assistance to those navigating complex immigration and employment law issues. The team of professionals has provided invaluable support, helping clients understand their rights and access essential services.

A longstanding collaboration

In 2022, Hugill & Ip and PathFinders joined forces to launch the #PathGuardiansHK initiative. This campaign aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by migrant families in Hong Kong while encouraging the community to take action in support of these vulnerable groups. The initiative not only provided resources and support to those in need but also fostered a sense of solidarity within the community, demonstrating the power of collective action.

The collaboration will see new initiatives in 2025, which will also include legal training to PathFinders’ frontline social workers and ambassadors as well as spreading legal awareness about legal issues related to Migrant Domestic Workers. Such efforts are part of a new programme recently launched by Hugill & Ip, called Bridges to Empowerment.

A memorable evening

As the evening unfolded at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, guests enjoyed a memorable experience while contributing to a meaningful cause. The partnership between Hugill & Ip and PathFinders highlights the power of collaboration in making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.

PathFinders dedicated team provides access to essential supplies, healthcare and education. They also facilitate referrals to key service partners for more specialist support, including emergency shelter, legal matters, domestic violence, drug abuse, family planning and child development delays.

As we approach its 16th anniversary, PathFinders is seeking your kind and generous support to ensure they can continue to meet the needs of all mothers, babies and children that need our assistance. Your donation will help ensure no child is left behind and every mother is empowered to find a path to a brighter future for her child. It will also plug urgent funding gaps for critical services and programmes over the coming year.

Together, we can pave the way for a brighter future for migrant women and their children in Hong Kong.
